Mallard Design Company began as Proton Manufacturing Products in 1985, the name changed in 1988 along with KiteSport coming into being from a general partnership making and selling kites and other gifts. The website started in the 1990's as more of a personal website, at first created to play with the latest internet coding and tricks, now called classic ASP, and to put up articles on other themes and interests like bicycle touring, climbing and archeology, which were added over the years.
